We are very happy to introduce to you our new medical director

Barbara A. Franklin, CFNP

Barbara has long term roots in New Mexico. She graduated from UNM in May 1990 with her BSN, then went on to work and more school in Nebraska. She then graduated from Creighton University, in Omaha, Nebraska, in May, 2007 with an M.S.N, as a Family Nurse Practitioner in Community Health . She is a licensed RN and Nurse Practitioner in both Nebraska and New Mexico.

Currently, Barbara has been working as a Nurse Practitioner at the University of New Mexico, in the School-Based Health Centers. There, she provides comprehensive care to children and adolescents in the outpatient clinic setting.

Barbara has also been working at Planned Parenthood of New Mexico.
Before that she worked at Alegent Health Clinic, Women’s Healthcare, Omaha, NE as
a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner.

Barbara is certified in Laser hair removal, IPL, Zeltiq, Botox and Juvederm injection.

Barabara is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the National Association of School Nurses, the Nationial Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health, the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology, and the Sigma Theta Tau International, Iota Tau Chapter.

Her community activities include being a leader and role model in the Girls Scouts USA, the Alegent Health Prenatal Education, the Nebraska Foster and Adoptive Parents Association, the Nebraska Children’s Home Society, and the American Red Cross. She is also a Basic Life Support and First Aid Instructor.

We are very proud to have her at Eternal Youth Medical Spa. Welcome aboard Barbara.

Lynn Scheflow

Lynn Scheflow has lived in Albuquerque for 30 years. She graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1983 with her Bachelors degree in University Studies with an emphasis in community relations. She attended University of Albuquerque and graduated in 1986 with her Nursing degree. She is a licensed RN in New Mexico. Lynn is a member of the Emergency Nurses Association.

Lynn has worked at Presbyterian Hospital in the labor and delivery unit, the OB triage unit at UNM Hospital, and the emergency room at Lovelace and Presbyterian. She currently works at Planned Parenthood of New Mexico.

Lynn keeps extremely busy taking care of her elderly parents and her two dogs. She loves to spend time with her family and friends. She enjoys working with women and loves to assist them on their cosmetic journey.

We are very happy to have Lynn join our team. Please help us welcome her.

Charlene Beck

Charlene Beck moved to Albuquerque, NM from Miami, FL 1 ½ years ago. She graduated with her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing and became a Registered Nurse and a Certified Nurse Practitioner.

Currently, Charlene works in a Women’s Health Practice and is an instructor at ITT Technical Institute. She has worked in Aesthetic Medicine for over 10 years and currently holds a certification in Aesthetic Medicine.

Charlene has been trained and certified by Allergan for Botox and Juvederm injections. She enjoys assisting women on their cosmetic journey. In her spare time, Charlene loves to hike, read, and attend yoga and dance class.

Vicky H. Lester, BS, MA, Ed.D

Dr. Lester is our amazing best friend, manager, and inspirational leader. Her educational and leadership background/skills have proven over and over again to be our biggest asset.

A common phrase coined many years ago is that she isn’t just the owner of Eternal Youth Medical Spa, she is our first client.

Dr. Lester “Vicky” has an extraordinary background. She has two Bachelors Degrees. One in Elementary Education (k-8) and a second in Special Education (K-12), two Masters Degrees, one in Learning Disorders and another in Educational Administration and most recently earned a Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership. She recently retired from education after 25 years of impeccable leadership and service. She was promoted from the classroom to become one of our state’s preeminent educational role models, first as a vice-principal, then a Principal for several public schools. She was recognized as one of only two educators that won The National Milken Award for Excellence in Education in 1996 for Educational Leadership.

Vicky was a President of a Parent Teacher Association and a National Trainer in Standards and Data. She was the founder of the Sierra Vista Civitan Club and a Liaison for the Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program. Vicky was a facilitator for Talented Youth with Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth and a trainer for non-violent communication education.
But most importantly, Vicky was a champion for children.

In the medical spa world, she has become certified in Lumenis LightSheer Laser Hair Removal, Lume One IPL and Fraxel, (fractional non-ablative lasers). On July 26, she will be certified on our newest and most exciting service, The Zeltiq CoolScuplting machine that does body contouring.

We are very proud and lucky to have Vicky as our owner and manager.

Michelle Marquez

Michelle Marquez was born and raised in Gallup, NM. She moved to Albuquerque in 2000. She married her high school sweetheart and they have two beautiful girls. Michelle became an aesthetician because of her family.  Acne is hereditary in her family and she grew up with severe acne. As she says, “So I know first hand the affects that acne can have on a persons self esteem, especially in their teens. I don’t want my own children going through what I did in high school. To this day, I struggle with my complexion, not only with acne but with scarring due to acne, as well as, large pores, hyper-pigmentation, and fine lines. I never realized the damage the environment can have on your skin especially the sun. I decided that I truly wanted to take care of my skin so I re-turned to school to help my self and others with skin problems. I graduated from Callas Beauty Institute in Rio Rancho as an aesthetician/nail tech. A month later I took my boards and officially was licensed. I have been licensed for two years and have been with Eternal Youth Medical Spa for over a year.”  Michelle has continued her education and is now certified in microdermabrasion, chemical peels, and laser hair  removal. Her attitude towards skincare? “I believe that education, prevention, and maintenance are key elements toward proper skincare. I also believe that skincare is not a luxury, it is a part of being healthy, and when your skin is healthy you are happy.”

Anita

Our dear Anita comes to us from Taos, NM where she grew up learning all about sales and customer service.

Anita just recently graduated Taos High School with honors (2011). She worked as a trusted pharmacy aide and human resource assistant at Holy Cross Hospital, while also honing her barista skills in preparing specialty coffees and foods at the hospital. She is proficient in Microsoft programs, Graphics and Web Design, Multimedia/Animation, Adobe in Design, as well as Serif Page Plus. Anita is our newest and youngest Eternal Youth family member but she is surely on board with our mission of always providing individually designed professional aesthetic medicine to each and every client..
